Hazel Grove will decide their future home ground at the Clubs AGM in May after more complaints and problems over the state of the Torkington Park pitch.
Once again this season the pitch has come under scrutiny from players and officials from both Hazel Grove and opposition sides. On two occasions referees have deemed the surface un-playable – not down to weather conditions but down to the poorly prepared surface.
A club spokeman said “The club pays a lot of money to Stockport Council for the pitch and we are not sure exactly what that money pays for. From January to April the pitch has been correctly marked and prepared for a game on one occasion, every other time we have had an issue.”
The club have looked into alternative arrangements within the local area but may also consider moving outside Stockport to play at a suitable venue next season.
The club will vote at the AGM on May 24th to decide the next location.
